Removals from Hayes to Belgium

The shortest overland leg on our corridor — Hayes to Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent and Bruges, straight off the Channel, with the paperwork prepared before you go.

CROSSING · Dover–Calais or the Tunnel, then a short run on the E40 to Brussels and Antwerp

Belgium sits right at the front of the corridor — off the crossing and onto the E40 with barely any overland distance to Brussels or Antwerp. It is the leg where a shared slot makes the most sense, because the run is short and consolidating with other moves keeps the cost down.

Brussels is a relocation city — EU institutions, international employers, a steady flow of households arriving and leaving — so we see a lot of professional moves onto this leg. Antwerp and Ghent bring the older-city access questions: narrow gabled streets, restricted vehicle windows, the occasional need to shuttle a smaller van in from a larger one parked nearby.

As with every corridor leg, the customs export and import entries are prepared and lodged in Hayes. Belgium being close does not make the paperwork optional — a move without the right declarations is held regardless of how short the drive is.

On this leg

What’s included

Survey and written quote

Access and vehicle-window restrictions checked in advance.

Export packing

Wrapped, listed and loaded for a short but real road leg.

Customs entries

Inventory and declarations lodged before departure.

Shared or dedicated transit

A slot on a scheduled Belgian run, or the whole vehicle.

Delivery and reassembly

Shuttle handling in restricted old-city streets where required.

Belgium is the shortest overland leg, so transit is usually the quickest on the corridor — but the window still depends on the crossing and the transit type. Your written quote gives the realistic figure for your specific move.

The paperwork

What Belgium needs from you

We prepare and lodge the customs entries — but a few documents have to come from you. Here is the short list, in plain terms.

Inventory (packing list)
The valued, itemised list the customs entries are built from.
Transfer of Residence
Duty relief for used household goods on a genuine move to Belgium.
Proof of Belgian address
Tenancy, purchase or employer documentation for the destination.
Passport / ID copy
Identity for the household-goods owner.
The paperwork is where I expected chaos and there was none — they told us exactly which documents we needed and chased the ones we forgot. Beds rebuilt in Antwerp the same as they came apart in West Drayton.

Questions

Hayes → Belgium, answered

I am relocating to Brussels for work — can you handle the employer paperwork side?

We handle the removals customs side — inventory, transfer-of-residence and the entries. Where your employer or a relocation agent needs specific documents from the mover, we provide them; anything on the immigration or contract side sits with you or your employer.

Antwerp old town has vehicle restrictions — how do you deliver?

We check the access window and street restrictions at survey. Where a full-size vehicle cannot reach the door, we shuttle in with a smaller van from a nearby holding point rather than risk a fine or a blocked street.

Is Belgium cheap enough to bother with a dedicated move?

For a full household, yes — a dedicated run is simple and direct. For a part-household the shared slot is usually the better value on such a short leg. We quote both.
